Selena Gomez - A Year Without Rain music video FOTD and Tutorial

I have fallen in love with the makeup in this video. Isn't it gorgeous? The song isn't bad either. The makeup consists of a shimmery taupe w/ a silvery sheen on the lid. Very black tightlined liner, and fake lashes. It's actually pretty simple. I did this look and wasn't entirely happy with how it came out and I've realized something. Her eyes are much much smaller than mine. So the black eyeliner and lashes are in a more concentrated area, giving them the appearance of looking darker. Even though I did the same exact thing on my eye, it doesn't look as dramatic because my eyes aren't as next time, bigger lashes, and slightly thicker liner :)

Products used:

mac moisturecover concealer as a base all over eye
mac dipdown fluidline as a base on lid
mac satin taupe, moons reflection, white frost, forgery, corduroy, blanc type
mac blacktrack fluidline, tightlined
fake lashes
mac studio fix fluid
mac mineralize skinfinish natural (msfn)
mac canteloupe blush
mac foil lipstick
mac clear gloss

I made a tutorial on this look! yay! Check it out here!

UD 15 Anniversary Palette Review

Hi all...I know everyone's excited to see the UD 15 fotds. I'll post a few probably in the next week. For now, I'd like to give my review on it.

I'm split 50/50 on how I feel about this palette :) On one hand, I love it, and on the other hand, I hate it. lol! Let me explain...

The texture of these powders are buttery smooth...which at first sounds like a good thing. But (to me) this is good & bad. Good because it means they apply very smooth and rich, but bad because it makes more not-so-good blendability, fall out, and poor longevity. When I was doing the swatches, the UD shadows went on seamlessly in one swipe while my mac ones needed 1-3 swatches to see the color...However, overall I'd still stick with my mac shadows because in the end, they last a lot longer on the lid, and give a much more flawless blend.

Another thing I loved about this palette were the actual colors. Very pretty, and many of them were very unique. (My favorite two shadows are Midnight Rodeo and Midnight 15)

The fall out was bad. I never get that kind of fall out with my mac or nars. That's one of the prices you pay for buttery smooth texture.

Lastly, as I briefly mentioned earlier, they don't blend flawlessly. If you're using several different shades on the lid & crease, they kind of just blend together. Not completely, but enough to make me not love this product.

I'll be posting a few fotds and eotds with this palette in the days to come :)

Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector Review

I'm in loooove with this stuff!!!

Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector is a moisturizing highlighter that you can either wear alone, or mix with foundation. It's meant to reflect light in all directions which gives a more even-toned appearance to your skin. As of right now, they offer three colors: Rose Shimmer #00, Champagne Shimmer #02, and Bronze Shimmer #03.

I've been using the #00 shade (rose shimmer) for years now. It's very similar to mac's strobe cream but it's texture is a little thicker. I always thought that the rose shimmer and strobe cream were pretty interchangeable and therefore, rose shimmer was nothing special.

HOWEVER...I recently purchased the #02 Champagne Shimmer from Apothica. I wore it today by itself (see previous post for fotd) and my skin looked FLAWLESS. You can grab this little gem for around $30 at your local department store that sells Clarins, or just go to because they frequently offer it discounted and have promo codes!
