Heading back to Vegas :)

2 weeks ago I went to Vegas to take a MAC Master Class on airbrushing, it was an all day lab and I loved it. Aside from the class, I LOVED being in Vegas. Even though I went by myself, I had such a blast! It's not the type of place I'd want to live in (even though I DID live there when I was in elementary school), but it's definitely fun for visits. The fact that it's only a 4 hour drive from where I live makes it very accessible and cheap to go.

It's only been 2 weeks and already I'm itching to go back. I decided I definitely want to go again, this time with the family, before I have my baby in June. I hopped online to see if MAC was offering any other master classes between now and June, and sure enough, there are a couple. Going to make our trip a little longer this time so that we can really enjoy our stay. This time we're staying in the Luxor...ever since I was a little girl I've wanted to stay there because when I was 9 and 10 I used to live in Egypt. I know the kids will love the bright lights of Vegas, and of course I'll go back to my favorite buffet -- the Rio Carnival World Buffet.

Probably won't haul as much as last time :) but I'll definitely be hauling. I'd like to go to a different CCO this time as well.

If anyone has any suggestions on what we should do on the strip with a 5 year old, please let me know!

xoxo LC

  1. My mom and I stayed at the Luxor in 2006 when we went together and were mistaken for a lesbian couple. It was fun--we got to "taste test" (half a glass at a time) all the different margarita flavors at the bar of a Mexican restaurant in there.

Caesar's Palace would definitely be a good place to take Little Miss, since they have the anamatronic gods thing every 15 or 30 minutes. And then there's the pirate show at Treasure Island--that gets really crowded so husband will probably want her on his shoulders.

And don't forget the tigers at the Mirage! All of this stuff is free. NY,NY has some fun stuff too--I think they have a good arcade, and if memory serves, there was a fun one at Caesar's Palace. But, the last time I went THERE I was 13..

  2. OMG Lauren you guys HAVE to go to Texas de Brazil. It's expensive ($40 or so for adults), but it's all-you-can eat all different grill meats (garlic sirloin, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, etc.) and the most amazing salad bar. It's the best churrascaria I've ever been to.

  3. HAHAHA!! I'm laughing that they mistook you for a lesbian couple. I've always wanted to stay in the luxor ever since being a little kid..just seems so fun.

Last month I took a makeup class that was in Caesar's forum shops, and the mac store I took it at was in front of the statues that do the skit...yes, every hour on the hour those things interupted our class, haha. I didn't know the tigers were free, so that's good to know. And treasure Island is a must.

Kyle has almost a full day of entertaining the kids while I teach a class, so I need to load him up on activities :)

OH and the churrascaria steakhouse sounds amazing...we're saving so much on the hotel, we can afford that :) *grunts* me like meat!
